Cora J. Hulsey

Cora J. Hulsey (nee Roques), of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Harley C. Hulsey; cherished daughter of the late Pearl and H.V. Roques; devoted mother of Beverly (the late Tom) Kreinbrook, Anita (Rick) Riebel, and Mike (Dana) Hulsey; loving grandmother of Rachel, Sarah, Jennifer, Mark, Ashley, and Mitchell; treasured great grandmother of Delaney, Addison, Harper, Dominic, Connor, and Evie; dear sister of Ruth (Robert) Stevens, Jess (the late Mary) Roques, and her six late siblings, Ernie, Louie, Henry, Clara, Jane, and Shirley; beloved aunt and friend to many.

Cora was a devout member of Morning Star Church - Dardenne Prairie, MO as well as a member of the Church's Lunch Bunch and the Widow's Group. She met once a month with Retired Teachers of St. Peter's Elementary without fail. Cora was also one of the Sexy Seven. She was raised on a farm along with her eight brothers and sisters. Cora became a teacher and taught for 40 dedicated years. In her beginning years Cora taught in a one room schoolhouse. She was Fort Zumwalt's first Teacher of the Year. After retiring, Cora continued to stay in touch with her former students to know how they were doing. Many of her students became teachers because of Cora’s influence. In her retirement Cora and her late husband, Harley, moved to Naples, Florida for 30 years, enjoying sunshine, the beach, and discovering "treasures" to send to the grandchildren. Living in Florida allowed her to meet and make friends from all over the world. She never met a stranger and was loved by all. Cora shared with her family that her only regret in life was never to get to go sky diving. Cora was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
