Cyril Andrew Francis Post

July 16, 1941 — December 8, 2020

Cyril Andrew Francis Post received his final blessing from the Catholic Church and passed into God’s loving arms Tuesday, December 8, 2020. He was Patricia Post’s (Hannigan) beloved husband for 51 years.

Cyril was born on July 16, 1941 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, to Dr. Cyril A. Post and Claire (Sedler) Post. His cherished children are Cyril Andrew Post III (Ida), Molly Ann Slattery (Ryan), and special “adopted” daughter, Heidi Yieng Kow. Precious grandchildren are Cyril Post IV, Everett Post, Ronan Post, Timothy Slattery, Clare Slattery, and Felix Slattery.

Cyril had two sisters, Susan Moore (Melvin) and Judith Post, and three brothers, Philip Post (Janice), Robert Post, and the late Daniel Post (wife, Margaret survives); brother-in-law, Michael Hannigan (Bonny) and sister-in-law, Mary Cashman (Benjamin).

Cyril served his country in the United States Air Force for 4 years as maintenance engineer on B-52 bombers. He then worked nights to put himself through Parks College of St. Louis University, graduating with a B.A. in aeronautical administration. He was employed at McDonnell Douglas Corp. for 23 years. He also spent 9 years as a technical service representative with Dema Engineering.

Cyril’s lifelong hobby of woodworking produced numerous beautiful gifts for family and friends that included cradles, rocking horses, furniture, American Flag display boxes, and children’s toys. He loved being a member of the Astronomical Society of Eastern Missouri.

Cyril’s life was lived for others, his integrity and faithfulness were examples to all who knew and loved him, but most of all his sense of humor brought so much joy.

Special thanks are extended to the caring staff at Barathaven Specialized Care, and Unity Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred, or a donation may be made to St. Louis Area Foodbank.
