Swantner, Dorothy Elaine (nee: Rueter) of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2014, at the age of 93. Daughter of the late William C. and Erna L. Rueter; sister to the late Jeanette (Harlan) Reese; and wife of the late Robert Swantner. Loving mother of Debra Poeling and Maureen Miller (Rusty) Jackson; grandmother to Lisa (Charles) VanderSchans, Holly (Greg) Bryson, James K. (Karie) Poeling, Jr., Jeffrey (Abigail) Jackson, Jennifer Jackson, and Julie Jackson; great grandmother of eight; step-mother of Robert Swantner, Jr., Larry Swantner, and the late Jeannie Prinster. She was loved by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Elaine is a World War II Marine Corp veteran. She retired from the United States Postal Service. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles, and reading. Most of all she enjoyed her large family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
