Dale Gene Dale E. Lonberger

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. LONBERGER, Dale. E. ''Gene Dale'', O'Fallon, MO, November 6, 2006 age 79; dearest husband of Helen A. Lonberger; loving father of Gloria Lonberger, Sharon Lonberger and Rebecca Huskey; dear brother of Edna May Bennett (John) and Lucille Cherico (Fred); beloved grandfather of 6 and great-grandfather of 9; preceded in death by his parents, Grover C. and Sarah Johns Lonberger, brothers Keith, Lloyd, Fred and Ray Lonberger, sister Caroline Randall and one grandson, Steven Trout. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division. Mr. Lonberger was a Telegraph Operator for Norfolk and Southern Railroad for 35 years before his retirement. He was a professional boxer - Pacific N.W. Bantem Weight Amateur Champion and he also trained boxers in the St. Charles area for over 30 years. He also coached a girls Khoury Leage Softball team for several years. He was a member of the O'Fallon VFW Post 5077, a member of First Baptist Church, O'Fallon, MO.
