Dallas Elmer Gronefeld, of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Shirley Gronefeld; cherished son of the late Martin and Maxine (nee Kasper) Gronefeld; devoted father of Vicky (Ed) Ohlms, Cheryl Gronefeld, and Rhonda (Daniel) Hemker; loving grandfather of John Ohlms, Jacob (Julie) Ohlms, Julie (Cody) Anno, Elizabeth Gronefeld, Emma Achtyl, Dallas Hemker, and Devin Hemker; treasured great grandfather of Stella and Everett Ohlms, Rutledge and Hayes Anno; dear brother of the late Wayne (Georgia) Gronefeld and Gerald (John Amick - surviving) Gronefeld; beloved uncle, cousin, and friend.
Dallas was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #513 and a loyal member of the Missouri Allis-Chalmers Club. He owned and operated Elmer's Hauling and Excavating and was a long-time subcontractor for HBD Contracting. An avid hunter, he also enjoyed antiquing, attending auctions, and rebuilding antique Allis-Chalmers tractors. Dallas had a passion for collecting guns and traveling in the RV, spending his winters in Mission, Texas. Above all, his greatest joy was his family, whom he loved deeply. Dallas was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Dallas's name to the National Kidney Foundation.
