Daniel Edward Hogan

Daniel “Dan” Edward Hogan, of Saint Louis, MO, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the age of 62. Cherished son of Edward Sylvester and Shirley May Hogan; dear brother of Sharon (Greg) Husmann; beloved uncle of Julie (Mike) Miller and Colleen (Joe) Jordan; treasured great uncle of Jackson Jordan, Kinsley Jordan, and Leland Miller; cousin and friend to many. 

Dan, known to many as Hogan, Hoags, or Coach, was a beloved mentor, soccer coach, and friend to countless people worldwide. A dedicated coach for 33 years, he recently completed his final season at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (UHSP) after an illustrious career that included coaching at Ottawa University in Kansas, Columbia College, University of Southern Indiana, Lindenwood-Belleville, and volunteering at New Dimensions. A talented player before becoming a coach, Dan began his soccer journey at Riverview Gardens High School, continued at Belleville Area College, and concluded at Truman State University. His exceptional contributions to the sport earned him induction into the Columbia College Athletic Hall of Fame (2011) and the NAIA American Midwest Conference Hall of Fame (2023). Beyond soccer, Dan was a man of immense kindness and loyalty, passionate about food, cooking, and the South City restaurants, always knowing the best spots for meals, candy, or a Busch beer on draft. He cherished music, especially vinyl records, and was deeply proud of his family while always being a loyal and caring friend. An incredible man with a heart of gold, Dan was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
