Memorials may be given to Bone Marrow Transplant Research at Washington University. Daniel M. Smith, 57, of St. Charles, MO, passed away on August 30, 2005. He died at home after a lengthy battle with leukemia. He lived by his own motto, Life is Full of Choices, But Leaves Only Memories Make Wise Choices. He had great insight of helping and enriching lives of others. Dan served in the U.S. Army in the Republic of Vietnam as a squad leader for Company D., 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry, WOLFHOUNDS. He was retired from BioMerieux after 29 years, working as an Engineer, Field Service Manager, and International Sales. Cherised husband of Carol L. Smith and devoted father of dearest sons, Rob, Daniel and Rusty, two stepsons, and 11 grandchildren. Join us for a Celebration of Life gathering on Friday, September 9th, 2005, from 7:00-9:00 PM at the Baue Funeral & Memorial Center, I-70 at Cave Springs, St. Charles, Missouri. Memorial service with military honors is Saturday, September 10th, 2005, 1:00 PM at Covenant of Grace Church, 1111 Muegge Road, St. Charles, Missouri, where he was a member.
