Darryl Glenn Vankirk of St. Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 84 on Sunday, July 18, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Vankirk; his children, Trena (the late Kevin) Lacy and Jeffery (survived by Carol) Vankirk; his parents, Fred and Lilly Vankirk; and his sister, Deloris Robey.
Darryl is survived by his children, Vickie (fiancé Terry) Stanton, Becky (Ed) Vankirk-Keel, and David Vankirk; his eleven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Darryl retired after more than 35 years from American Steel Company as a metal pattern maker.
He was an outdoorsman who liked to get away to nature whenever he could. He was fond of hunting and fishing and treasured all the vacations at the Lake of the Ozarks as well as boating.
Darryl was a member of the Elks Lodge and valued the good times and friendships he found there. As a motorcycle enthusiast, Darryl enjoyed going out for a ride and was even a flat track racing state champion in his day.
Darryl will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial contributions in Darryl’s name may be made to
the American Heart Association.
