It is with great sadness that after a four-year battle with cancer, the beloved David Lynn LaCroix passed away on February 14, 2024. Born July 12, 1951 to late Betty & James LaCroix in the town of St. Louis, MO. Dave grew up in Glasgow Village with his surviving brothers, Jimmy (Sarah) LaCroix and Al (Teresa) LaCroix. Dave went to St. Vincent’s College in Cape Girardeau from 1966-1968 and graduated from Riverview Gardens High School in 1969 and went on to become a mechanic.
He and his wife Linda (Reiss) recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. After marrying in 1973 they moved to Florissant, MO and started a family of their own. He was father to three children, twin boys Chad (Melissa) and Brad (Jennifer) and six years later welcomed daughter, Heather.
Wanting to ensure he was able to take care of his family, he earned his electrical engineering degree from Washington University. Through the years Dave loved going on trips to Jamaica and Branson. Dave was known to some by his call sign NF0L through his ham radio, where he connected with many people from all over the world. He also enjoyed the occasional round of golf, both out on a course and even via Xbox with his sons.
Dave loved being a grandfather to his 5 grandchildren, Marissa (Brad), Audrey (Chad), Marcus (Brad), Aiden (Chad) and Hazel (Heather). He was very active in his church and was a man of strong faith. Although Dave was more of the quiet and reserved type, you always knew that he cared for others, and he would be there if you needed him. He fought a strong fight, but in the end, he could hear God calling him home.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society in memory of Dave LaCroix.
