David Michael Byrd, Jr. of Saint Louis, MO, passed away Friday, January 31, 2025 at the age of 56. Beloved husband of 15 years to Esperansa Byrd; cherished son of David Michael, Sr. and Sonja Byrd; devoted father of Kalib Michael (Danielle) Byrd, Katelynne (Matthew) Byrd, Joslynne (Benjamin) Jones, Demetri Levon, Brianna Kaitlin and the late Jason Anthony; loving grandfather of Liam, Eli, Alaina, Wayde, Olivia, Dominic and the late Emmett; dear brother of Matthew (Debbie) Byrd and the late Nathan Byrd.
David was a kindhearted, generous, and gentle soul who touched the lives of many. A devoted man of faith, he studied the Bible diligently and served as a minister, always sharing his love for God with those around him. His devotion extended to his family and his country, values he held close to his heart.
A talented master carpenter, David built not just with his hands but with his heart, creating lasting works and cherished memories. He was also a lifelong car and gun enthusiast, finding joy in the craftsmanship and history behind them.
From a young age, David’s passion for wrestling shaped his determination and discipline. Competing from the age of 8 to 19, he achieved the remarkable title of state champion his senior year—a testament to his perseverance and dedication.
David had a truly unique spirit, one that never met a stranger. He loved meeting new people and left an impression on everyone he encountered. David was an excellent husband, father, grandfather and son, his warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith made him a beacon of light in the lives of many.
David was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
