Leeke, David J., age 81 of St. Charles, Missouri, was called home by our Lord Jesus Christ on the Twenty-Fifth of May, 2010 following a long illness. He was surrounded by his loving family and passed away at his home. David was born in Jackson, Michigan to David S. and Anna Leeke. Brother of Paul Leeke of Austin, Texas and Marlene (nee Leeke) Cunningham of Jackson, Michigan. David is predeceased by a brother, Robert Leeke, Sr. of Jackson, Michigan. As a Marine, David served his country in the Armed Forces and continued his education at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. While there, he met, fell in love with and married Carol P. Russell of Billings, Missouri. David and Carol recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. Making St. Charles their home, David was Chief Engineer of Nooter Corporation in St. Louis, Missouri until he retired. David and Carol are blessed with five children. David’s life will be celebrated by his loving wife, Carol, daughters Debra McCarty (Mike) of Blue Earth, Minnesota, JoEllen Leeke of St. Louis, Missouri, son Marc Leeke (Angela) of Ballwin, Missouri, daughter Cheryl Lamonica (Tim) of Millstadt, Illinois and son Jim Leeke (Paula) of O’Fallon, Missouri. Grandpa’s love will forever be reflected in his nine grandchildren, Jason, Amy, Matthew, David, Alexander, Christopher, Sonya, Jessica, and Michael. David was an active member of First Baptist Church of St. Charles and served his Lord and Church in faithfulness and love for many years. The family will receive family and friends from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 28 at First Baptist of St. Charles, 2701 Muegge Road, 63303, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. (no interment). Everyone is invited to join us in celebrating the life of David J. Leeke, Beloved Brother, Husband, Father, Uncle, and Grandfather. If you are unable to attend, we ask that you remember David and his family in your prayers.
