David Michael "Mike" Lane, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the age of 78.
A graduate of the University of Missouri, he received his Master's degree in Education from UMSL in 1969. "Mr. Lane" retired in 1996, after a 30-year career teaching in the Pattonville and St. Charles school districts. Mike had many interests over the years: baseball, trains, planes, automobiles, photography, music, and learning in general. He played trumpet in the St. Charles Municipal Band for many years. He loved traveling and meeting people, and will be remembered by many for his amiability, generosity, and wit.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Ruth Lane; his children, Lisa Goyette (Mitch), Anne Lane (Brian), Heather Hodes (Greg), and Heath Hinegardner (Lisa); his grandchildren, Samuel and Maximillian Burg, and Madelynn and Zoey Hodes; and his brother Douglas Lane.
He was predeceased by his parents, Melvin and Lois Lane.
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, teacher, and friend. He will be greatly missed.
