David Summers

David “Dave” Summers, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025, at the age of 78. Beloved son of the late Kenneth David and Lucille Ruth Summers (nee Higginbotham); loving brother of John William (Judy) Summers, Joseph Edward (Nancy) Summers, Marian Virginia (Mark) Hicks, Patricia Louise (Otha) Stone, James Thomas (Maggie) Summers, Charles Anthony Summers, Colleen Faye (Daniel) Kliethermas, and Stephanie Kay Summers; loving cousin and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dave was preceded in death by sisters Margaret Ann Summers-Little and Elizabeth Ruth Mengwasser.

Dave proudly served his country in the United States Army. A voracious reader, he was known for his love of learning and his deep sense of hospitality. Dave cherished spending time with his family and was always practical, helpful, and dependable. As a great brother and a father figure to many, he was someone others could always rely on.

He took pride in maintaining his home, often enjoying the simple pleasures of feeding the squirrels and wildlife around his property. A former long-haul truck driver, Dave embraced a peaceful and uncomplicated life during his retirement. He was a thoughtful listener, always present and willing to help.

A kind and generous man, Dave was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back. He was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Memorials may be made in Dave's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
