Dawn Mae Grindstaff

Dawn Mae Grindstaff, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at the age of 40 from Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome.  

Dawn was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at 18 months old and diagnosed with Lupus at 13 years old, with heart, lung and kidney involvement. Dawn met her health challenges every day. 

Cherished daughter of Donald and Denise Grindstaff; dear sister of the late Derrick Grindstaff; granddaughter of the late Norma & Herbert Grindstaff, and the late Dorothy and Donald Brewer; niece of David (Marie) Brewer, Douglas (Sherry) Brewer, Diane (the late Arthur) Gisi, Darlene Brewer, Debbie (the late Richard) Russell, Dr. Dale (Heather) Brewer, Danny Brewer, Ken Rose, the late Norman Rose, Dale (Rhea) Grindstaff, and 16 cousins, Godmother of Isabelle Waggoner. 

Dawn was an assistant store manager at JoAnn Fabrics & Crafts until her health declined and she couldn’t work. She used her time making counted cross-stitch pictures for family and friends with the hope of one day starting her own business called, Sew Crafty Cross-Stitch & Creations. 

Dawn loved her fur babies, cat, Ascher and dog, Ariel. 

Dawn was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dawn’s memory may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America or to the American Lung Association.
