Wussler, Deacon Donald A., of Saint Charles, MO, died on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at the age of 71. Loving husband of Barbara Wussler; beloved son of Bertha Catherine and Edgar J. Wussler; devoted and proud father of Marilyn (Michael) Humphrey, Susan (Paul Washington, Jr.) Jokerst, and Christopher (Rachel Dairaghi) Wussler; cherished grandfather of Kathryn (Katy) Jokerst, Jacob, Luke, and Cole Wussler; dear brother of Sr. Marilyn Wussler SSND, Lorita (Retie) Thornhill, Richard Wussler, and Alfred Wussler; beloved brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and dear friend to many. He is preceded in death by his twin brothers Anthony and Arnold.
Donald was a deacon and lifetime member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Saint Charles. He was ordained to the Diaconate in 1997 by then Archbishop Justin Rigali. He served three years in the US Marine Corps, was a volunteer fireman, and a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He was employed by the US Postal Service in Saint Charles for 35 years as a letter carrier, serving as safety officer, union steward and president of the NALC local union. Donald assisted the Chaplin for Masses and distributed communion to the residents at Mount Carmel Senior Living for seven years. He also was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Society, Criminal Justice Ministry for many years and brought communion to those in the Saint Charles County Jail.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church, American Diabetes Association or Heartland Hospice.
