DeAnna T. Fulkerson

May 29, 1937 — March 28, 2023

St. Charles, Missouri

Our Mom, DeAnna T. Fulkerson left this earth and went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

Mom was born on May 29, 1937, to Clarence and Edna (nee Temple) Lefman in Higginsville, Missouri. She was the second of four children and the dear sister of Emelyn Clements (Los Angeles, CA), John Lefman (Imperial, MO), and Clarice Duffett (Richmond, MO).

Mom had two daughters, Olivia (Keith) Lindsey and Elaine (the late Dan) McCabe; her family grew to include 6 grandchildren Keith, Dee, Emily, Steven, Ryan and Kyle and 11 great-grandchildren, plus 1 great-grandson.

She attended the University of Central Missouri and then received a master’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She was a dedicated educator and worked her entire career for Pattonville School District. She began her career teaching 4th and 5th grade then transitioned to Elementary guidance counseling where she would focus on Carrolton and Carrolton grade school until she retired in 1997.

Throughout her life she was an avid reader consuming 5-6 books a week. She was able to travel to all 50 states and Europe, Greece, and Canada. She was adventurous and twice she went white water rafting in the Colorado River. She and her sister Clarice enjoyed traveling together and on one of their trips they had a memorable hiccup when searching for Niagara Falls, they were unable to find it and decided someone had moved it before they’d gotten there.

Mom’s sense of wit, her love for telling her grown kids how to drive and her abundant love for her family will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.

Private services for family will be held at Baue in O’Fallon with burial at St. John UCC Cemetery following.
