Delbert Wayne Day

Delbert Wayne Day, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the age of 84. Beloved husband of the late Jackie F. Day; cherished son of the late Harold and Catherine Day; devoted father of John "Mike" (Mary) Day, Kevin W. Day, and Michelle Day; loving grandfather of April (Richard) Viehmann, Mandy Heath, Danielle Kasper, and Delaney Kasper; treasured great grandfather of Hannah(Matthew), Jacob, Ashleigh, Ethan, and Lucas; great-great grandfather of Sawyer and Rowan; dear brother of David (Judy) Day and Sharon (Donnie) Martin.

Delbert was a hardworking man who became the sole provider for his family after his wife’s passing in 1981. Before her passing, they enjoyed playing cards and softball together. He loved sports, especially bowling, and even worked at the bowling alley for some time. Delbert spent many years working for Hannibal Quincy Truck Lines, later renamed Gully Transportation. A true jokester, he found joy in his work and had a generous spirit. He was an avid fan of the Cardinals, the Blues, Notre Dame football, and Duke basketball. In his downtime, he enjoyed watching westerns. Delbert was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
