Delbert "Del" Charles Robertson of Warrenton, MO, passed away at the age of 90 on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan (Wideman) Robertson; his parents, Charles and Mabel Robertson; his siblings, Edward Robertson, Harold (Delores) Robertson, Carl Robertson, and Elizabeth (Paul) King; his father in-law Lloyd Wideman, mother in-law, Kathryn Wideman; and his brother in-law, Warren Wideman and sister in-law, Kathy Otte.
Del is survived by his loving children, Delanna (Walter Jr.) Branson of Warrenton, MO, and Carla Robertson of Warrenton, MO; his grandchildren, Chip (Maddie) Branson of Warrenton, MO, Katlyn Branson of Springfield, MO, and McKenzie Branson of Warrenton, MO; his brother-in-law, Jerry Otte of Lake St. Louis, MO; his great-aunt, Jean Hawkins; his cousin, Janet Davis; the daughter of his heart, Kate Zust and her family; Del was also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Also surviving are his medical family of his heart that worked so hard to allow him to stay at home with his family: The Mary Center Adult Daycare of Bridgeton, MO, Warren County Ambulance District, St. Joseph West Hospital, Dr. Gary Gray and staff at Wing Haven Internal Medicine, Dr. Kevin Weikart, Dr. Howard Goldberg and staff, Dr. Stephanie Sandberg, Dr. Mark Vogel and staff, Dr. J. Matthew Conoyer and staff, Christina Welch (PT), Ricky Kern (PT), and the SSM Day Institutes in Warrenton and Bridgeton.
Del proudly and honorably served in the U.S Navy on the USS Valley Forge during the Korean War. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. Del was also the recipient of the Warren County Friends of 4-H Award. No matter what obstacle that was given to him, Del fought through it all. In 2012, he was the recipient of the SSM Spirit of Healing Award.
Del was known as a “Hot Mess”. He was the world’s biggest jokester and enjoyed being able to make anyone smile or laugh. During the holidays, Del would dress up as Santa Claus to spread Holiday cheer. He was a combination of stubbornness, sweetness, joy, kindness, mischief, and was the epitome of service and appreciation for those around him. Family meant everything to Del, especially his grandchildren who he truly supported and adored. Del will be missed by many, but he will never be forgotten.

The family invites you to join them at the graveside that will be held at St. Charles Memorial Gardens with full military honors with a safe and socially distanced service. Guests are invited to stand outside of their vehicles or stay inside their vehicles where they can listen to the service through an FM Radio Transmitter. There will be staff and signs to guide you accordingly.
