Della "Cookie" McDuffey

Della “Cookie” McDuffey (nee Maxfield), of Troy, MO, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023, at the age of 78. Loving wife of Thomas McDuffey; beloved daughter of the late Eugene W. and Eunice "Shorty" Maxfield;  devoted mother of Michael (Angie Bockhoff) McDuffey and Colleen (Michael) Martin; cherished grandmother of Meaghan McDuffey, Molly McDuffey, Mekala (Joe) Johannes, Mitchell McDuffey, Mickey McDuffey, Tierney (Troy) Toedebusch, Shea Martin, and Rian Martin; treasured great-grandmother of Ailissa, Caddie, Tom Tom, Audrey, Ryder, Jaxon, Jaydon, and Marlow; dear sister of the late Larry “Butch” Maxfield; and is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cookie and Thomas shared 60 loving years of marriage. She leaves behind a legacy filled with family, travel, and creativity. Working in education most of her life, she imparted lasting lessons to many. An avid casino enthusiast, skilled seamstress, and genealogy enthusiast, Cookie was known for her delectable chocolate chip cookies and potato salad. Her joy peaked in the presence of her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cookie's departure leaves a void, but her love and cherished memories endure, fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Cookie's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
