Deloris Jean Elders (nee Allen), of Farmington, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth B. Elders; cherished daughter of the late Rev. J.W. and Nancy “Ruth” Allen (nee. Rawlings). Devoted mother of Mary Kay (The late William F. Johnson Jr.) Elders Johnson, Sharon Ruth (Leslie) Elders Noah, and Karen Jean (Mitchell) Elders Tillman; loving grandmother of Jennifer A. (Kevin L. Anderson Jr.) Hayes-Anderson; Melissa J. (Eric W. Robinson) Tillman-Robinson, Rebecca L. (Seth D. Anderson) Tillman-Anderson, and Mitchell K. Tillman, Jr.; treasured 13 great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; dear brother of William L. (Nikki Allen) Allen; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother, Donald "Bud" (The late Caroline Allen) Allen.
Deloris was deeply involved in the music department at Trinity Tabernacle, where she played the organ, piano, and sang. She began playing piano at around five years old, mastering both playing by ear and reading music. A proud Christian, she was a devoted member of the First Assembly of God in Farmington, where she met her husband, Kenneth. Deloris and Kenneth built, owned, and operated the Dairy Queen in Farmington, MO, for a number of years. They opened the Dairy Queen on November 17, 1987. She enjoyed camping and traveling and attended high school in Farmington. Deloris was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Deloris's name to Alzheimer's Association.
