DUVALL, Dennis (Denny) went to be with the Lord on March 18, 2021 at the age of 74.
Denny suffered from COPD and died at home with his wife, Joan by his side. Denny and Joan shared a loving marriage for over 41 years, after meeting at work in 1979.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents Clifford Duvall and Katherine Duvall (Leibach), loving brother to Carolyn Price (Tom), uncle to John Price (Lynn) and Jeff Price (Laura), and great uncle to Evan, Sophie, Alex, and Clayton. Loving brother-in-law to David Boyer (deceased) (Carol), Betty Overy (Stan deceased) and Linda Uetrecht (Gene), Theresa Kaiser (Ron), and Ron Boyer. Uncle to Robin (Jeff), Leslie, Stan (deceased), Holly (Brian), Ronnie (Chris), Deanna (Ed), Scott (Amy), and great uncle to Christian, Nathen, Emily, Dominic, Brianna, Troy, Ava, Eric, Allison, Brendan, Madison, Scottie, and Ryan, and cousin and nephew. Loving friend to many, and to his lifelong friends, Alan Osborne, Alan Schade, and John Blood.
Denny retired from McDonnell Douglas/Boeing after 42 years. The majority of his career was in Technical Publications as a Technical Illustrator and Technical Writer. Later in his career he worked in Manufacturing Engineering and Tool Services.
Denny’s passions were fast cars, motorcycles, fishing, and boating, but he was best known for his unique sense of humor, generosity, genuine smile, and his ability to make friends and make everyone feel special.
A monthly ritual for Denny was meeting for breakfast with his cousins Gary Leibach and Mel Leibach. Gary proceeded Denny in death in December 2020. Mel still visited Denny when he was no longer able to leave the house so they could continue with their lively conversations.
Denny and Joan joined The Lutheran Church of Websters Gardens in 2003. They enjoyed regular attendance through 2020. They served on the coffee committee, were Sunday morning greeters, and helped deliver food and coat drive donations to various places in need. A highlight for Denny was his small group bible study led by Terri Gibson. Every member was special to him – Brad and Terri Gibson, Galen and Katheryn Gritts, Tracy and Barb Hounsom, Ed and Chris Meyers, Derek and Cyndi Maag, Julie Muhlhauser, Mike Muhlhauser (deceased), Craig and Lisa Steffens, and Stu and Janey Vogelsmeier.
Denny and Joan opened their hearts and home to many. He will be missed by all.
