Dennis L. Corley

Corley, Chief Dennis L. of St. Charles, MO passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015 at the age of 60.  Dennis is the loving son of the late Donald Eugene Corley and Doris Lorraine Corley; devoted husband of 39 years of Cherie Jo Corley; beloved father of Tifani (Derek) Herbert and SRA Christopher (Eliza) Corley; cherished grandfather of Jacob Herbert and Bryson Corley; dear brother of Don Corley; loving brother in-law of Tom (Charlene) Pilla, Sandra (T.J.) Mickels and Jimmy (Jane) Pilla; prized adopted son of John (Karen) Cira. Dennis was also a dear cousin, nephew, uncle and a loyal friend to many. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Orville and Pernie Corley and other members of his family.
 Dennis was the Chief of Police for the Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis where he had oversight of the Police Department and Claims Department. He began his law enforcement career in 1974, holding a variety of progressive responsibility positions with the Hazelwood Police Department, Union Pacific Railroad Police Department, Norfolk Southern Railroad Police Department and the St. Charles Police Department where he served as Chief of Police. He was the 2013 President of the Missouri Chiefs of Police Association. Prior to his passing, he held memberships in the International Chiefs of Police, Missouri & Illinois Railroad Police Association and the FBI National Academy Associates. Dennis earned a Master's degree in Management from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri and was a graduate of the 204 Session of the FBI National Academy. Dennis was a Florida Gators fan, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, spending time on the lake but he mostly enjoyed and cherished the time he spent with his family.
