Dennis Wayne Schleeper of O’Fallon, MO, passed away at the age of 70 on Friday, September 25, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Odette and Laura Schleeper; his brother, Neil Schleeper, and his brother-in-law, Jack Patton.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Schleeper; his children, Janet (Doug) Hallam, Joanne (Greg) Young, and Dennis (Bridget) Schleeper, Jr.; his grandchildren, Alexis Hallam, Emily Hallam, Meaghan Brady, Chloe Young, Luke Young, Madison Schleeper, and Melanie Schleeper; and his siblings, Linda (George) Stark, Laura (Denny) Spier, Wanda Patton, Tim Schleeper, Donna (Ted) Tisi, and Jean Solis.
Dennis served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated Union member of IAM, District 9, and for many years he generously volunteered his time, helping out with Union barbeques and other functions he helped facilitate.
For fun, Dennis enjoyed testing his luck at the Casino, but most of all, he cherished the time he spent in his vegetable garden. He grew many different kinds of vegetables, but was especially known for his prolific and varied tomato crop each year. Above everything, Dennis loved his family with all his heart and they loved everything about him – even the little stubborn streak he had that made him who he was. He was deeply loved, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
