Diana L. Hagan (nee Walker), of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Monday, August 27, 2018, at the age of 79. Loving wife of 58 years to Walter Hagan; beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Lois Walker; devoted mother of Gerald (Dianne) Hagan, Christopher (Laura) Hagan, and Sean (Pamela) Hagan; cherished grandmother of Kyle (Melissa) Hagan, Angela (Vince) Valli, Jennica Hagan, Molly (Dave) Muiznieks, Christina Hagan, and Timothy Hagan; treasured great-grandmother of eight; and dear sister of Brenda (Jim) Gallaher, Linda (the late Al) Lococo, and Mary (Rick) Taylor. Diana was preceded in death by her beloved canine companion, Hank the Cow Dog.
Diana dedicated many long hours pouring her love and time into the Armchair Adventurer, her bookstore on Droste Road in St. Charles, which her husband bought for her because of her love for books. Not only did the store fuel her passion for reading, but it allowed her to meet and share with others the written word. Along with reading, Diana enjoyed traveling with her husband and family. They purchased a fifth wheel to seek adventure all across the United States. Every place visited formed a cherished memory and gained her new friends. A favorite destination, not only for herself but for family vacations, was 1000 Hills State Park, where they enjoyed more than 24 years camping and fishing together.
Diana enjoyed letting her creative skills flourish with crafts, masterpiece quilts, hearty rugs, or decorative wall hangings. She was also an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and never missed a game. Above all else, she cherished her family and loved spending time with them. She will be remembered for her spicy attitude and big heart, and she will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her in return.
Memorials may be made in Diana’s name to Evelyn's House (monetary donations or flowers are accepted).
