Diana Mae Akers

Diana Mae Akers (nee Dandy), of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 at the age of 73. Loving wife of Robert Patrick "Pat" Akers; beloved daughter of the late Phillip Sam and Mary Florence Dandy; devoted mother of Christopher M. (Valerie) Akers and Melissa N. (Richard Jr.) Hamilton; cherished grandmother of Nicholas Akers, Zachary Akers, Kathryn Akers, and Claire Janson; dear sister of Dale Michael (Arlette) Dandy and Darlene Chapman; treasured niece of Lilah Adele Dandy, Heyfa Gader, and Fred Gader; she is survived by a multitude of cousins in both the Dandy and Gader families; beloved aunt, and friend to many. Diana is also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Mona (the late Jim) Miller; paternal grandparents, Sam and Godley Dandy; maternal grandparents, Saleh and Shrefey Gader; mother and father-in-law, Robert B. and Ethel L. Akers.

Diana was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She was very active in the church as well as the school, serving on the School Board and founder of the Special Education Reading Program. Diana was also a member of Rho Chi-St. Jude Chapter and St. Charles Birthright. She retired as the JC Penny assistant store manager at 15 years of service. Diana was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Diana's name to Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
