Dolores H. Haas, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the age of 86. Loving wife of the late Gerald J. Haas; beloved daughter of the late Irvin P. and Bernadine Stephens; devoted mother of Patricia (James) Haywood and Linda (Charlie) Skotniski; cherished grandmother of Kaitlin (Thomas) McGinley, Ashley (Tony Gambaro) Haywood, Devin Kiser, James Biship, Lisa (Ben Knobbe) Biship, and step-grandson, Adam Skotniski; sister-in-law of Glenda (Doug) Amey. Dolores was also preceded in death by her son, Andrew James Haas; her infant sister, Mary Agnes Stephens; brothers, Irvin A. Stephens, John Stephens; and sisters, Ruth (Dean) Witzel, Mildred (William) Mode, and Dorothy (James) Roach. She was a dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Dolores was a wonderful homemaker to her family. To her kids, she was known as Mom, to many of her nieces and nephews she was known as Aunt Pete, to her grandkids she was known as Grandma or Grandma Susie, but to her true love she was known as Hawkeye. She enjoyed embroidering, sewing, and creating beautiful crafts. She liked to go camping and fishing with her family throughout the years.
Dolores and her husband were snowbirds and spent winters in Florida in their RV at the campground with most of their “usual” friends. They also enjoyed driving around and site-seeing together. Dolores liked curling up on the couch watching Old Westerns on TV. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, and even went to Spring Training in Florida to see them once. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dolores's name to the
Alzheimer's Association.
