Dolores M. Blasé (nee Yungfleisch) of Wentzville, MO was born in St. Louis, MO on April 12, 1927 and has passed away peacefully on November 28, 2020 at the age of 93. Loving wife of the late Robert Blasé; beloved daughter of the late Otto and Elsa Yungfleisch; devoted mother to Sheryl (Elmer) Williams, Cynthia (William) Sachs, and Terry (Eugene) Brady. Cherished grandmother to Christopher (Jennifer), Adrienne (Tom), Amanda, Mathew, Justin (Mary), Robert, Emily & Lauren. Cherished great-grandmother to 10 beautiful and loving great-grandchildren.
Dear sister of the late Marilyn Mason, James Wolfe, and the late Charles Wolfe; dear aunt, great aunt and friend to so many. Dolores will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Her smile was contagious and she touched so many lives.
Dolores was a bookkeeper for Klayman Plants Company for 34 years and eventually went part-time and retired at 82 with a lot of persuasion from two of her daughters. She loved her job and the people she worked with were more than just co-workers, they were her extended family.
Dolores was a woman of deep and strong faith and loved the fellowship she found within her church community. She was a member of Arlington Methodist Church in Bridgeton where she was involved in all of their groups. One of her most cherished activities was The Sunshine Committee which involved visiting and bringing flowers to members who were in the hospital. Years later after moving to Wentzville, Dolores transferred her membership to Wentzville United Methodist Church. She loved her new church home and made so many new friends and was involved in United Methodist Women’s Group, Bible Study Groups, Book Club and Game Day just to name a few.
Her hobbies over the years included bowling, exercise, card & game groups, dancing & watching and attending all of The St. Louis Baseball Cardinal games. She purchased season packages with two seats and would take different family members to the games. She new all of the Cardinal statistics and never missed a televised game. At age 85, she went to Jupiter for Spring Training & had her picture taken with David Freeze. She also from time to time enjoyed time at the casino with her BFF Dolores. Dolores was also a devoted and active volunteer at both DePaul Hospital and SSM Hospital Lake St. Louis. She just loved and thrived making new friends and being with people. She traveled extensively, however when asked, would state that her most cherished vacations were either Sanibel Island or Destin surrounded by her children and grandchildren. At age 82 she went parasailing with her granddaughter Adrienne.
The last year of Dolores’ life was spent in assisted living at Twin Oaks in Wentzville, MO. This was her new home and she just flourished. She joined in on all activities. Even tried to teach one of the nurses how to jitterbug for an upcoming dance she was attending. She was shown so much love by all of the staff and made so many new friends.
Dolores was truly “The Matriarch” of her family and the upcoming holidays will not be the same without her. She will be so greatly missed, however, there will be so many laughs and stories to share of all of the fun and amazing times shared with our DEAR Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother & Friend!
Because of covid restraints, there will be a private viewing for family at Baue where Dolores will be buried with her beloved husband Robert. A memorial service and “CELEBRATION OF A LIFE WELL LIVED” will take place in the spring when hopefully family and friends can gather safely.
