Don E. Lauer

Don E. Lauer, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Carolyn Lauer; cherished son of Don A. and Dora Mae Lauer; devoted father of David “Kevin” Lauer, Susan Lauer, Dawn Lauer and Ryan (Alicia) Lauer; loving grandfather of Jordan (Courtney) Lauer; treasured great-grandfather of Emery Lauer and Noelani Lauer. Don proudly served in the United States Army. He was a member of American Legion Post 312 and held many titles including the Post Commander and Chaplain for many years. Don was very involved and enjoyed the community and friends he found there. When he was not spending time with the American Legion hosting bingo, working spaghetti suppers, or participating in many parades, he could be found at VFW Post 2866 organizing the meat shoot and participating in the fish fry's. After his time in the military, Don dedicated 45 years to McDonnell Douglas as a Senior Industrial Illustrator artist, contributing to many different programs throughout the Aeronautics program. Don was very hardworking and instilled his work ethic and integrity within his family. He was a caring husband and devoted father who was admired by his children as someone they could always look up to. Don was dearly loved and respected. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Don’s name to American Legion Post 312.Baue Funeral Homes is currently following CDC recommendations regarding mask and social distancing policies.
