Donald A. “Don” Owens

Donald A. "Don" Owens, of St. Charles, MO, born in Webbs Cross Roads, KY, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014 at the age of 81. Loving husband of the late Laura J. Owens; dear son of the late Clifford and Lola Owens (nee: Robertson); devoted father of Amy Owens of Lexington, KY. He is preceded in death by his older brothers, Clifford E. Owens of Prescott, AZ, and Lewis M. Owens of Lexington, KY.
A longtime fan of the University of Kentucky and University of Missouri men's basketball teams and the St. Louis Cardinals, Don proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He graduated from Valparaiso Technical Institute of Indiana and spent his entire professional career in electronics. Don retired from St. Louis-based McDonnell Douglas. He met wife Laura, originally from Doniphan, MO, while both were living in Springfield, IL, and they were married from 1960 until her death in 2005. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Ataxia Foundation.
