Donald L. Ashenfelter, Jr., age 73, passed away at his home in St. Charles, Missouri on October 23, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, daughter Dawn (Paul) Hogan of Denver, CO, grandsons Shamus (Amy) Hogan and Tom (Rachel) Hogan of Reno, Nevada, granddaughter Sara Hogan of Denver, Colorado, two great-grandsons Ezekiel and Lincoln of Reno, Nevada, brothers Tim (Brenda) of Richmond, Indiana, Doug (Betty) of Fountain City, Indiana, Roger (Yvonne) of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Scott (Janet) of Glendale, Arizona, and numerous nieces and nephews.Don was born in Richmond, Indiana on May 31, 1945 to Donald L. and Lou Ellen Ashenfelter. A graduate of Richmond High School, he entered the US Army in October 1965, served two tours of duty in Vietnam, as well as tours in Germany and Korea and was honorably discharged as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 after 23 years of service. Very active within his church, Don was very comfortable with where he would spend his eternity and is now enjoying the fruits of his labors.There will be a funeral service in St. Ann, MO at Lighthouse Baptist Church on Sunday, October 28th and an additional calling in Richmond, IN at Stegall Berheide Orr Funeral Home from 1:00 - 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 31st followed by a graveside service at Earlham Mausoleum Chapel with full military honors. In lieu of flower the family requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
