Donald William Dickherber, of O'Fallon, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023, at the age of 88. Loving husband of the late Ruth Ann Dickherber; beloved son of the late Helen and Alfred Dickherber; devoted father of Mark (Karen) Dickherber, Brian (Gloria) Dickherber, Carla (Tim) King, Lance Dickherber, and Lisa (Daniel Oliver) Dickherber Renda; cherished grandfather of Benjamin (Linda) Dickherber, Kathleen Dickherber, Jennifer Dickherber, Tara (Mike) Burger, Brandon (Beccah) Dickherber, Andrew (Julie) King, Matthew (Laura) King, Curtis King, Rebekah (Bryan) Leslie, Elizah (Justin Ransom) Dickherber and Samantha (Nicholas) Marsh; treasured great-grandfather of 17; dearest brother of Betty Dickherber, Joan (the late William) Schwendeman, and Patricia (Jim) McMenamy; dear brother-in-law of Joe Wolf and MaryAnn Dickherber.  

Donald was also preceded in death by his siblings, Harold Dickherber, RuthAnn Dickherber, Margie Wolf, Rosemary (Ron) Brown, David Dickherber, and Kenny Brugmann. 

Donald worked as a transportation manager for Brown Shoe Co., and he retired after more than 30 years of service with the company. He was the ultimate Mr. Handyman and could fix anything, and he was always willing to help everyone out.  

As a family man, Donald loved spending time with his family, and his world revolved around his wife and children. He and his wife traveled across the United States, and they visited all 50 States in the Union. When his grandchildren came along, he was the proudest grandpa ever and always looked forward to attending their events.  

Donald enjoyed cooking, and he made the best fried chicken. He liked to go to garage sales and resell things. He loved being outdoors and keeping his lawn perfectly manicured.  In his spare time, he liked to work on puzzles of all sorts.  

Donald was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorial contributions may be made in Donald’s name to Alzheimer’s Association.
