Donald Allen Marvin, age 70, went home to be with the Lord January 17, 2018. He was born April 1, 1947 in Compton, California.
Devoted husband of the late Jackie Marvin; beloved son of the late Herbert and Ruth Marvin; father to Jack (Jennifer) Marvin, Shawn (Rebecca) Marvin, and the late Brad Marvin; grandfather to Alize, Devyn, Katie, Lexi, Sammie, Connor, Abby, and Bennett Marvin.
At age 18, Don entered the U.S. Navy where he served two years of active duty. While on a two day leave he met the love of his life, Jackie, who stole him from the sea. Don and Jackie enjoyed 50 years of marriage together.
After the U.S. Navy, Don went to work for the Aeronautical and Aerospace industries. Don worked on both of the Apollo and shuttle mock-up programs before transferring to Florida where he worked as a SCO (spacecraft operator) with the shuttle program and recovery team until his retirement.
Don enjoyed his involvement with the Azan Shrine Center where he served as Potentate in 2008. In his free time, he enjoyed logging hours as a pilot, riding his Harley, playing tennis, racquetball, and a good round of golf.
