Dear husband of Dorothy Lay NEE: Hoekman; beloved son of the late Frank Lay and Lela Lay; devoted father of Donna Foppe, Kimberly Jill (Doug) Brandsma, Derek (Megan) Lay and Jon (Rachel) Lay; cherished grandfather of Vanessa Ross, Stephanie Del Rosario, Timothy Brandsma, Aimee Brandsma, Elliott Brandsma and Kendyl Lay; treasured great-grandfather of 2; dear brother of James Richard Lay and Betty (James) Lowe; beloved uncle and friend to many. He is preceded in death by Carl Dean Lay, brother; Kenneth Robert Lay, brother; Carol June Arehart, sister. Don was employed as a School Administrator and was a realtor and broker for 15 years after his 20 years as an educator.
