McGarvey, Donald L., of Maryland Heights, MO, died on Friday, September 4, 2015, at the age of 94. Loving husband of Patricia McGarvey (nee: Standley); beloved son of the late Loren and Helen McGarvey; devoted father of Helen (Len) Licata, Janet (Mike) Derr, Marjorie (Mark) McClintock, and the late Vernon McGarvey; dear father-in-law of Glynnda McGarvey-Stanley; cherished grandfather of Scott (Suzi) McGarvey, Jaime (Johnathan) Morgans, Jennifer (Keith) Nelson, Malorie McClintock, Meagan (Brian) Goddard, and Mikelle McClintock; treasured great-grandfather of Cooper McGarvey, Heidi Morgans, Dane Morgans, Kyle Nelson, Brittney Nelson, Hailey Goddard, and Jaden Goddard; and dear brother of Frank (Jean) McGarvey and the late Fern (the late Bill) Terry. Don is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his late wife Pearl L. McGarvey (nee: Mueller).

Don proudly served his country in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. During his time with the US Army Air Corps, he stood alongside his comrades in the South Pacific Theatre 13th Army Air Force, also known as the Jungle Air Force, and earned several medals including 3 Bronze Stars.
