Donald E. Meyer

Donald E. Meyer, of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023, at the age of 88. Loving husband of the late Carole Meyer; beloved son of the late Flora and Arlie Meyer; devoted father of Doug (Rebecca) Meyer and Brad (Laura) Meyer, cherished grandfather of Aidan Meyer, Anna Meyer, Joel Meyer, and Charles Meyer; dearest brother of the late Robert Meyer, and brother-in-law of Jean Meyer. Donald was a dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many. 

Don received his bachelor's in marketing from Missouri University “Mizzou” and was a lifelong Mizzou football fan. He was commissioned into the Army Reserves and worked a bit at McDonnell-Douglas.  Don started his own company, Meyer Real Estate, in 1959. From humble beginnings over half a century ago, today the company is still thriving and is run by Don's son and nephews. He helped many St. Charles families find the homes of their dreams. 

In his late 20's, Don was married to Carole, and they raised their family with two sons. He loved the St. Charles area and enjoyed being active in various civic organizations. He was a St. Charles Kiwanis member (and former Chairman), a St. Charles Chamber member, and had been Chairman of the St. Charles County Salvation Army Board. Don had also been involved with March of Dimes campaigns and the St. Charles County Board of Realtors. He was a member of the Piker's Hunting and Fishing Club, and a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.  

Don liked to play poker (when he won) ...and he enjoyed playing bridge and pinochle. He liked participating in Friday's Happy Hours--dancing and socializing.  

 Don will be remembered for his quick wit and comedic frugal nature. He was the life of the party and loved his family dearly. Memorials may be made in Donald's name to St. John U.C.C. or Kiwanis Scholarship Funds.
