Donald Robert Sappington

Donald Robert Sappington, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of the late Sheila Sappington; cherished son of the late Robert and Lavina Sappington; devoted father of Jim (Cathy) Sappington and Dennis (Karin) Sappington; loving grandfather of Terry Sappington, Jessica Sappington, Kelsey Sappington, Kristen (Nick) Moushey, and Erik Sappington; treasured great-grandfather of Caleb, Eloise and Elijah; dear brother of Joyce (Clark) Gordon.

Don was an accomplished horseman and champion quarter horse racer. He had an entrepreneurial spirit who owned many businesses including J&D Tool and Toxonics Inc., where he manufactured archery sights used by Olympians. Don had six patents to his name and was a self-taught engineer. Don enjoyed golf, water skiing, photography and art. Don was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Don's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Five Acres Animal Shelter.
