Donald G. Winter

November 30, 1964 — August 26, 2024

West Alton, Missouri

Donald “Don” Gerard Winter, loving husband and father passed away suddenly on Monday, August 26, 2024. He was born November 30, 1964 to Glenn and Mardy Winter. He is deeply mourned by his wife, Laura (Wollberg) Winter and children, Alexander, Matthew (Sami Biesk) and Josie and his precious granddaughter, Skyler, his brother Greg (Sue) Winter and sister Cheryl (Burt) Frager.

Don proudly served his country as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, stationed at Camp Pendleton and Okinawa, Japan from 1983–1987. Upon his return to the St. Louis area, he began his career and worked as a Journeyman Electrician for over 30 years. He was always willing to share his expertise to help family and friends.

Don married Laura (Wollberg) in 1993 and began their family. He made his family his priority and selflessly worked hard all his life to provide for and care for them. Don was an avid hockey fan and loved spending time with his family fishing, grilling, vacationing, and simply being together.

Don was known for his “hard shell” and dry humor, but that just covered the kind and loving person that was inside. He was constant and steady and could always be counted on to be exactly who he was. He will be dearly missed every minute of every day by the family and friends he left behind.

Don was preceded in death by his oldest son, Jacob Ryan Winter and his mother, Mardy Winter. He is survived by his wife, Laura (Wollberg), and children, Alexander Winter, Matthew Winter (Sami Biesk), Josephine Winter and his granddaughter, Skyler Rose Winter. He also leaves behind his father, Glennon F. Winter, brother, Gregory (Sue) Winter and sister Cheryl Frager. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
