Dorislea “Nanna” Abbott (nee Wooten), of Troy, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the age of 92. Cherished daughter of the late Sydney and Maggie Wooten. Devoted mother of Donald Abbott and Gregory (Brenda) Abbott; mother-in-law of Cheryl Curbow; loving grandmother of Benjamin (Erin) Abbott, Braden Abbott, Beau (Brittany) Abbott, Bryan (Tracey Chan) Abbott, Nicholas Abbott, Megan Abbott, David Kriger, and Allen (Sara) Criger; treasured great-grandmother of Ephram Abbott, Ainsley Abbott, Hudson Abbott, Kailey Criger, and Ryan Criger; dear sister of Mary, George, and Patsy; known as Abby to her coworkers, dear friend to many. Preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara (Ray) Criger; sister, Lois; brother, Charles; and ex-husband, Homer D. Abbott.

Dorislea was born during the Great Depression and married a WW2 veteran. Her professional journey led her to become a surgery technician in hospitals, specializing in general surgery and heart transplants. Upon retirement, she devoted herself to caring for her father, showcasing her nurturing nature. Diligent and independent, Dorislea meticulously prepared surgical equipment, finding fulfillment in her work. As a proud homeowner, she took joy in maintaining and embellishing her house. Family held a special place in her heart, reciprocating the love they bestowed upon her. Her affection extended to Braden's loyal companion, Kevin Brown, with whom she shared a deep bond of mutual care and companionship. Dorislea was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
