Dorothy I. Haynes of Saint Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 96 on Thursday, August 8, 2019. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Haynes; her children, Sharon Yust and Joseph Haynes; her parents, John and Nettie Welch; and her siblings, Howard, Ray, Clifford, Bill, Beulah, Durella, and Berthie.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Diana (Ron) Molkenbur; her grandchildren, Debbie Bowman, Dawn Molkenbur, Terry (Lisa) Haynes, Lori (Jeff) Claus, Kelly Molkenbur, and Angela Yust; her great-grandchildren, Max, Hailey, Ryan, Megan, Lexi, Amber, and Ava; and her sister, Virginia Presnell.
Dorothy was the former president of the Textile Workers of America and retired from the Bemis Company in 1970. She was a woman of strong faith and belonged to Messiah Lutheran Church while formerly belonging to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Hazelwood and Zion Lutheran in St. Louis. Quilting was a great passion of Dorothy’s and she enjoyed the time she spent creating many fine things. Dorothy was a proud survivor of breast cancer and her fighting spirit was an example of strength for her friends and family. She looked forward to her trips to the boat where she tested her luck at the games and she loved listening to her favorite singer, Elvis. Friends and family will always remember Dorothy as an incredible, generous woman. She will be dearly missed.
