Dorothy J. Mann, 84, of St. Peters, MO, was born on October 6, 1929 in East St. Louis, Illinois. She died early Thursday morning at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters. She was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Dorothy retired as an executive secretary, having worked at both Mallickrodt and the Federal Milk Market Administration. She attended Webster University and St. Louis University, and graduated high school from St. Teresa's Academy.
Dorothy was a vibrant, compassionate and fun-loving person with a great sense of humor. She was an excellent writer and artist, and loved all animals and flowers. She was an avid gardener at home, church, and houses of friends and neighbors. She did many voluntary works for her church and other people. She is remembered as saying '˜Live one day at a time and let God do the rest.'
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Nora (Curry) Mann, her sister Norma Price (Jay) and two brothers-in-law, Donald Doyle (Marjorie) and Joseph Hannigan (Doris). She is survived by her two sisters, Marjorie Doyle and Doris Hannigan, 18 nieces and nephews, and many grand nieces, nephews and cousins.
