HOELSCHER, Dorothy Louise, (nee Hofmann), 80, of St. Charles, MO, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 17, 2003; beloved wife of Harlin R. Hoelscher, loving mother of Kathy (Skip) Huls; Judy Arnold; John (Barbara) Hoelscher; and Patty (Steve) Knight; dear grandmother of Jason and Justin (Dawn) Huls; Nathan and Meagan Arnold; Erika Carrie and Jack Hoelscher; and Steve, Ryan and Mandy Knight; great-grandmother of Austin and Logan Huls. She is also survived by her twin sister, Ruth Hanser of Fon du Lac, WI; three brothers, Art (Ruth), and Earl (Lorraine) of St. Louis; and Harold (Betty) Hofmann of Great Falls, MT; a sis-ter-in-law, Laverne (Ben) Downs of St. Louis; dear aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend. Born in St. Louis July 15, 1923, to Edna (Brockmeier) and Arthur Hofmann, Dorothy graduated from Central High School in 1941. She attended Miss Hickey’s Business School and then worked as a secretary at Mallinkrodt Chemical. On Octo-ber 25, 1947, she married Harlin at Bethany Lutheran Church in St. Louis. While raising her family, Dorothy was active in the PTA and Mothers’ Club. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed crossword puzzles, needlework, tennis and traveling. Ever the green thumb, any living thing she touched blossomed. Dorothy was a dedicated member of P.E.O. Chapter LR and Immanuel Lutheran Church Lydia Circle. She always will be lovingly remembered for her energy, her enthusiasm and her willingness to lend a helping hand. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends who cherish the gift of her presence in their lives. Funeral at 11 am Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 6th & Jefferson, St. Charles; interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation one hour before service and 4 to 8 pm Sunday at Baue Funeral Home, 620 Jefferson, St. Charles. Memorials to Donor’s Choice.
