Dorothy Marie Shelton (nee: Faeth) of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019, at the age of 82. Beloved wife of 59 years to the late Norman Shelton; cherished daughter of the late Walter F. and Marie D. Faeth; Devoted mother of Daniel (Kathy) Shelton, Denise (Tim) Ferber, Dale (Dayna) Shelton, and Dianna (Phil) Maulhardt; loving grandmother of Chad (Whitney) Shelton, Christopher (Ashley) Shelton, Carl (Jessica) Shelton, Cary (Melissa) Shelton, Ashley Ferber, Alanna (Anthony) Nelson, Ian (Katie) Shelton, and Ariana Shelton; treasured great-grandmother of Brian and James Shelton, Dawson Caldwell, Liam Shelton, and Lucas Shelton.
Dorothy is also preceded in death by sisters Marjorie Frankenbach Hillman and Carol Peiter.
Dorothy was the owner of Baskets-N-Clay ceramics shop in the 1980s. She was an active member of many organizations including Immanuel Lutheran Church, Merry Pairs, Mother's Club, and Birthday Club, and the STL Thunderbird Club, and Calico Needlers. Dorothy also served as a volunteer tax preparer and local election judge for many years. In addition, she was a member of the Point Prairie 4-H Club and leader of Blanchette Hills 4-H Club. Dorothy was a graduate of St. Charles High School. She enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren's sporting activities, and she loved quilting, sewing, crafts, gardening, and traveling. Dorothy was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
