Dorothy M. Overy

Dorothy Marie Overy (nee Kegel), of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Richard O. Overy; cherished daughter of the late Jacob and Daisy Kegel; devoted mother of Darlene M. (Kenneth) Bergman, Sherry (Robert) Phillips, Holly (Raymond) Warren, Kathy Ferguson, and Gary (Nicole) Overy; loving grandmother of Scott (Mayen) Schuler, Jennifer (Matthew) Conway, Kristie (Micah) Bushnell, Chris (Stacey) Rosemann, Heather (Ryan) Sutter, Laura (Seth) Bushnell, Jenna (J.D.) Shaw, Brandon (Kelley) Ferguson, and Danielle (Gil) Gutierrez; treasured great-grandmother of 18 great-grandchildren; adored great-great-grandmother of 4 great-great grandchildren; dear sister of the late Laverne Kegel and the late Kenneth Kegel; adored godmother of Dennis Overy. 

Dorothy was a woman of faith and dedicated many years volunteering her time at the Baptist Church of O'Fallon. She had a very sweet personality and a warm heart. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, especially pinnacle, going on shopping sprees and adventures with her annual bus tours. 

Dorothy worked at the IGA in O'Fallon, managing the Bakery Department for more than 20 years. She loved the creative work, an art she taught herself, and was very successful at creating beautiful cookies and cakes.   

Above all, Dorothy loved her family. She was a proud wife, mother and grandmother. She loved every moment of the time she spent with them. Dorothy was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Memorials may be made in Dorothy's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
