Johar, Dr. Jogindar Singh, of Chesterfield, MO, died on Monday, October 10, 2016, at the age of 81. Loving husband of 56 years to Manjit Kaur Johar; beloved son of the late Warayam Singh and Tej Kaur Johar; devoted father of Dr. Ravijot “Ravi” Singh (Kay) Johar, Dr. Jasjot “Jassi” Singh (Amy) Johar, and Navjot “Vinny” Singh (Sabrina) Johar; cherished grandfather of Katelyn, Jamie, Alex, Jackson, Megan, and Jenna; dear brother of Harcharan Singh Johar. He is preceded in death by his brothers Maj. Bhupindar Singh Johar and Col. Randhir Singh Johar.
Dr. Johar was the Dean of the division of Math and Science at Wayne State College and retired after 32 years of service. He received his BS in Chemistry from the Government College Ludhiana, Punjab, India, his MS at Chandigarh, India, PHD from the University of Florida in 1966, and Post Doctorate from the University of Idaho, Moscow in 1967. Dr. Johar was a member of the Nebraska State Education Association and received the J. G. Elliott Award for outstanding contributions to healthcare in the state of Nebraska. He was an Admiral in the Nebraska Navy and active in the Democratic Party. Mostly Dr. Johar enjoyed being with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
