Duane "Butch" James Nevels, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the age of 70. Duane was born in St. Louis, MO to Theresia and James Nevels. Beloved brother to Nancy (Dale) Nichols, Sandra (Dan) Howard, and Sharon (Jeffrey) Vaughn. Cherished uncle to Christina (Kyle Anderson) Nichols, Rebecca (Marty) Wells, Joshua (Jill) Vaughn, Chelsea (Tyler) Masters, Alicia Williams, and Jonathan Howard. Treasured great-uncle to Connor & Annalise Wells, Matilda & Fiona Vaughn, Elliana, Addison & Emerson Masters, and Tucker Williams.
After working in the transportation industry for many years, Butch worked at Briggs & Stratton and then as a school crossing guard. Following retirement, he enjoyed crappie fishing. Butch loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and was devoted to his many dog companions.
Butch was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorials may be made in Butch's name to a charity of your choice.
