Tauer, E.J. “Al”, of St. Peters, MO, died on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at the age of 86. Loving husband of 63 years to Patricia “Pat” Tauer (nee: Huiras); beloved son of the late Raymond and Mathilda (nee: Domeier) Tauer, Sr.; devoted father of Mary (Robert) Mackenzie, Mark Tauer, Paul (Mary Beth) Tauer, and Betsy Tauer; cherished grandfather of Caitlin Phelan, Evan Waldo, Stephanie Mader, Lindsey Smith, Christopher Tauer, Alyssa Tauer, and Emily Daugherty; treasured great-grandfather of Adelaide Smith; dear brother of Bennett Tauer. He is preceded in death by his siblings Leander Tauer, Raymond Tauer, Jr. and Mary Anne Tauer.
Al proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a graduate of St. Thomas in 1951 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. Al was the Director of Research for Kellwood for 19 years, he then went on to be the Director of Environmental Compliance for Orscheln Industries for 10 years.
Al was a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Chemical Society. He loved camping and the outdoors as well as cooking, gardening and woodworking. Al coached little league football for several years and enjoyed watching football in later years. He was always a Packers fan and loved being with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
