Earl A. Ehlmann

Earl A. Ehlmann, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the age of 84. Loving husband of 63 years to Marilyn A. Ehlmann; beloved son of the late Helen and Alfred Ehlmann; devoted father of Doug (Teresa) Ehlmann, John (Annette) Ehlmann, and Mike Ehlmann; cherished grandfather of Andrew (Melanie) Ehlmann, Thomas (Ashley) Ehlmann, Ryan (Taylor) Ehlmann, and Eric (Ellisa) Ehlmann; treasured great-grandfather of Mackenzie Ehlmann, Avery Ehlmann, Lucy Ehlmann, Aiden Ehlmann, Tucker Ehlmann, and Aurora Ehlmann; dearest brother of Carol (Rick) Schiermeier, the late Roger Ehlmann, and the late Paul Ehlmann; and dear brother-in-law of Audrey Ehlmann. 

Earl was raised in the farming community of St. Charles and co-owned his farm with his brother, Roger, until 1985. He worked for St. Charles County Coop for more than 20 years, then for El-Mel Inc as a warehouse manager for 10 years before retiring.  

As a man of faith, Earl was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and dedicated his time volunteering on the financial committee. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially taking his grandchildren on tractor rides and teaching them how to fish. He enjoyed the outdoors, working in his yard and attending to his fruit and vegetable gardens. In his spare time, he liked to create unique pieces with his woodworking and welding. 

Earl enjoyed bowling and was on a league at St. Charles Lanes for many years and also bowled at Plaza Lanes on the senior league. He loved traveling with his wife, Marilyn, and his favorite trip was their vacation in Germany. They also visited the National Parks in Wyoming, and toured Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, and Devil’s Tower.   

Earl was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorial contributions may be made in Earl's name to Immanuel Lutheran Church or American Kidney Fund.
