Edgar L. Cox

Cox, Edgar L., of St. Charles, MO, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016, at the age of 95. Loving husband of 72 years to Mary L. Cox; beloved son of the late Edgar W. and Luttie E. Cox; devoted father of John (Carolyn) Cox, Phillip (Trudi) Cox, James (Judy) Cox, and Mary (Don) Herbert; cherished grandfather of John Cox, Michael Cox, Elizabeth (Daniel) Murray, Gregory (Roshni) Cox, Christine (Matt) Wiles, Mark (Nobel) Cox, Steven Cox, Lori (Chuck Wert) Cox, Scott (Joy) Herbert, and Brian (Ahyoung) Herbert; treasured great-grandfather of Amanda, Blake, Ryan, Julia, Lily, Riley, Dylan, Rollin, Chase, Ally, Leia, and Amy; dear great-great-grandfather of Addison. He is preceded in death by 9 siblings.

Edgar proudly served his country and was a decorated veteran in the United States Army during WWII and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree from Louisiana State University and a member of LSU Alumni Association. He was also a member of Bogey Hills Baptist Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the 75th Infantry Division Veterans Association. Edgar was a friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
