Edith “Imogene” Strain (nee Edwards), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away peacefully and went home to the Lord on Monday, April 7th, 2025, at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Mack Strain; cherished daughter of the late Stella and William "Joe" Edwards; devoted mother of Donna Strain and Kathy Ebersold; loving grandmother of Jeanna (Ryan) Rice; treasured great grandmother of Gunnar and Callum Rice, and the late Mack and Declan Rice. She was also preceded in death by her three dear siblings, Mildred Taylor, Irene Hollis, and Joseph Edwards.
Imogene’s life was centered around her faith, family, and friends. She loved the outdoors, especially camping and floating on the 11-Point River and at the Lake of the Ozarks and enjoyed sewing in her spare time. A dedicated and spirited athlete, she played catcher on her church league softball team until the age of 65. Her faith journey began at age 10 when she was saved and baptized in the 11-Point River, which led to a lifelong devotion to church where she taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school, forming cherished friendships along the way. Imogene also dedicated 21 years of service to the Hazelwood School District. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Imogene's name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Five Acres Animal Shelter or First Baptist Church St. Charles Connect Ministry.
