Edmund Tanner Moody of St. Charles, MO, formally of Jefferson City MO, died of lung cancer on September 4, 2021. He was 58 years old. He is survived by his mother Mildred T. Moody, his sister Nan (William) Stumbo of Fairport, NY, his brother Peter W. (Laura) Moody of Richardson TX, and nieces and nephews Marie, Rebecca, Jack, and Sam. He was preceded in death by his father Jerry W. Moody, his sister Sarah Moody, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
Ed was born July 31, 1963, in Columbus, OH. He was an Eagle Scout and hiked in the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. He graduated from St. Charles High School in St. Charles, MO, and the University of Missouri - Rolla, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He spent his entire career with the Missouri Department of Transportation designing and inspecting bridges. He also earned his professional engineering certification. He retired in January 2020, after 35 years of service with MODOT. Ed had many interests and hobbies. He taught himself woodworking or “making sawdust” as he would call it and built many beautiful pieces of furniture for himself and others. He learned to brew beer and make wine. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, astronomy, photography, traveling, studying nature, reading, and working sudoku. Ed was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. A private burial service will be held at Canfield Village Cemetery in Canfield, OH.
